Textile Insects

Clothes moths are small (5-7mm) golden brown moths.

The adults do no harm when feeding, however, the larvae which hatch from sticky eggs, eat and cause damage to natural fibers including fur, feathers, carpets and woolen garments.

Good hygiene is essential i.e. regular cleaning / vacuuming of carpets. Check lofts for old bird nests and remove if possible.

Melford can treat infested areas (after a survey has been carried out) with suitable insecticide where appropriate.
